Michigan Space & Science Center at Jackson
Community
College closes to the public December 19, 2003.
Artifacts, belonging to the Smithsonian National Air & Space
Museum were slated to go to Kalamazoo Aviation Museum and the San
Diego Aerospace Museum. The following photographs are
meant to remind the public about the treasure that Jackson lost
when the center closed. For those of you that visited the
museum we hope these photos bring you fond memories of the times
spent in this time capsule that transported you back to the days
of the space race than culminated in our successful landing on the
moon July 20, 1969. The San Diego Aerospace Museum has a
large event planned for July 20th (the 35th anniversary) to honor
their new display of the Apollo IX Command Module that has been
transferred to their collection. Check back for more news
often.
