Gumbert Field was set up with a permanent FAA Waiver on for 9,000 feet A.G.L. (for anything flying to that altitude please notify JMRC Officers for Approval and Weather Conditions).  The Waiver allows us to call 48 hours in advance to allow the controlling tower (Lansing) to post a NOTAM (Notice to all Airmen) regarding our flight hours for our open window.  We still perform a visual check of the airspace for each flight and must suspend the flights if the tower calls with a notification of an inbound flight of an aircraft.  We stay in contact with the Lansing and Jackson Towers the day of the flight.  Mr. Gumbert farms the field seasonally, which allows us to use the field from December until April.

The field is located between Jackson and Leslie just off of Highway 127.  Use the Berry Rd. exit, turn west and turn left or south at Churchill Rd. Our field is just south of Broughwell Rd.  We rent a Porta John for each launch.  Launch pads are supplied by the club.     (Click here to open a map in a new window)

Set up 8:00 a.m. Launch begins @ 10:00 a.m. Concludes @ 5:00 p.m.

The field is located just south of Brooklyn on Brooklyn Rd. off of M-50 just east of Highway 127.  . off of M-12 just across from the MIS main entrance.  Use the Jefferson Rd. exit, turn right or south at M-50, continue through Brooklyn and take Brooklyn Rd to US-12, turn left and then right into Gate 14 Graves Farm Campgrounds.  We rent a Porta John for each launch that is held in the off-season months and have use of the bathroom facilities during racing season.  Launch pads are supplied by the club.      (Click here to open a map in a new window)
